Community-Led Traceability for Land, Culture, and Livelihoods

Rintik is an initiative driven by the spirit of empowering Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) in managing natural resources sustainably and equitably. We believe that environmental preservation and the recognition of community rights can only be achieved through systems that are transparent, fair, participatory, and committed to the common good across generations. Rintik develops and strengthens traceability systems in the supply chain that are community-based, ensuring IPLCs are involved in every stage—from production and distribution to consumption. We stand alongside communities to protect their rights to land, culture, data, and customary territories, while promoting alternative economic models that are non-exploitative and anti-colonial. Our work includes training, advocacy, legal facilitation, cultural documentation, and the development of local enterprises based on the potential of recognized customary territories. By meaningfully involving women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized groups, Rintik ensures that every voice within the community has a role in the development process. We also build strategic partnerships with various stakeholders—governments, civil society, the private sector, academia, and the media—to enhance the bargaining position of IPLCs in decision-making processes and to promote the recognition of community-based traceability systems at both national and international levels.
